From 31 March 2015 Parliament will extend its welcome to Chinese visitors with guided tours in Mandarin becoming part of the regular tour schedule.

Initially two guided tours per day led by Mandarin-speaking Blue Badge guides will be offered. These are in addition to the audio tours in Mandarin that are already available throughout each tour day.

Ticketed tours are available to visitors from the UK and overseas on Saturdays throughout the year and on most weekdays during Parliamentary recesses including February, Easter and the summer.

The Houses of Parliament is a member of the GREAT China Welcome Charter run by VisitBritain. The Charter is only open to organisations which have demonstrated services and facilities that are particularly suitable for Chinese visitors.

Jo Leslie, China/UK Business Development Manager at VisitBritain commented: “The aim of the GREAT China Welcome Charter is to help the British tourism industry provide valuable Chinese visitors with the best possible experience of Britain. Offering Mandarin-speaking guides is an important way of developing our welcome. Catering for its Chinese visitors in this way is a hugely positive development for Parliament as a visitor attraction.”

Tickets can be purchased online, by calling 44 (0)20 7219 4114 or in person from the Ticket Office at the front of Portcullis House on Victoria Embankment. More information for the travel trade is available on the Groups and travel trade page.
