12 June 2015
At the 2015 Group Travel Awards on 5 June 2015, the Houses of Parliament was presented with the award for ‘Best Company or Venue offering Guided Tours’.
Competition for the award was strong with the other finalists being BBC Media City Salford, Big Bus Tours London, Buckingham Palace, Canterbury Guided Tours, City & Village Tours, Coronation Street Tour, Leeds Castle and Manchester United Museum & Tour.
On receiving the award at the London Hilton on Park Lane Ian Lacey, Marketing & Travel Trade Manager at the Houses of Parliament, commented:
“It is particularly special to be recognised by group travel organisers; people who tend to visit many places and take part in a lot of guided tours each year. Winning this award is not only a reminder of the broad appeal of the tours we offer at the Houses of Parliament, but also acknowledges the enormous amount of teamwork that goes into delivering a rewarding and enjoyable experience for our visitors.”
In September 2014 the Houses of Parliament was awarded the ‘Best Guided Tour’ prize at the 2014 Group Leisure Awards so are currently holders of two of the group travel industry’s major awards for guided tours. Both awards are voted for by readers of Group Travel Organiser magazine and Group Leisure magazine respectively.
More information for group travel organisers wishing to book visits to the Houses of Parliament is available on the Groups and travel trade page. Tickets can now be booked for tours on all Saturdays through to 28 November 2015 and most weekdays between 27 July and 9 October 2015.
